Two Australian brands signed an MOU with leading Manipur-based skills provider and NSDC partner, JCRE Skill Solutions. The three companies, JCRE Skill Solutions, Di Bella Coffee and the Australian Retail College agreed to work together to deliver skill development training and jobs for rural youth from the North Eastern State of Manipur.

The Australian Retail College (ARC) has been delivering Skill Development training for central and state government initiatives in India for the past 2 and a half years. With a head office in Hyderabad, ARC has already delivered training to thousands of candidates. Whilst on hand to sign the agreement, ARC Vice President, Sam Freeman, said “Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi has set lofty goals for skill development, this landmark agreement is recognition that to meet these targets and the needs of industry we must work together and realise that no one entity can do everything.”

JCRE Skill Solutions (JCRE) is a registered Vocational Training Provider based out of Imphal. Last year they placed in the top 5% of retail training partners for successful pass out rates and this month affiliated as an NSDC training partner, with a plan to open 13 centres across the North East.

“We feel that the North-east states have a huge talent pool which is in high demand by the service industry. However, this talent should find responsible and ethical training organisations and employers who believe in developing and growing them. We are happy to find that in the tripartite partnership among JCRE Skill Solutions, Australian Retail College and Di Bella Coffee.” adds, Mr Niranjan Singh, CEO & Director JCRE Skill Solutions.

Di Bella Coffee was founded in 2002 in Brisbane, Australia by Philip Di Bella, a celebrated entrepreneur, philanthropist and one of Australia’s most passionate businessmen. Beginning as a coffee roaster, and working nights, Philip went from door to door attracting customers. From this humble beginning Di Bella Coffee has grown to be one of the leading coffee company in Australia. Di Bella Coffee caters to 1500+ cafes globally and sells 3 million cups of coffee a week. Recently they have set up 10 stores in Mumbai and Hyderabad and have a plan in place to open seven more around Mumbai over the next three months with a total of 50 stores to open up within the next three years.

The agreement will see each partner utilise their specialist skills to play a key role in the delivery of an initial target of 150 jobs. ARC, with their background of 27 years in skill development training will lead the project, and are responsible for the program development and training delivery.

The agreement marks the first time in India that two international companies have partnered with a local company for industry aligned skill development training.
