Pravasi Women – Indian Women Abroad

According to Wikipedia the overseas Indian community is estimated at over 25 million Indians spread across every major region in the world. This is the largest diaspora after the Chinese. Reasons for moving away are numerous and varied but relocating with families, studying and seeking professional opportunities top the list.

Also known as Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) or Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), the Indian expat community take with them their rich, cultural heritage, customs and cooking to destinations around the world. Often with family still in India, ties to the mainland are often strong and many Indian expats return to India many years later. In the meantime, we want to hear from those of you who have chosen to live abroad.
