Tell us about yourself, your background and what you do currently
Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj

I am a very easy going and passionate person about life. I like to learn daily in all fields and spheres of life and I think that’s the reason of my little bit success in life. My background is very simple, I have an elder sister who is also a very successful chemical engineer happily married to another chemical engineer and I also have a mother who has played both the mother and father role all her life. My mother is a doctor and served the Government in various posts and retired as Addl Medical Superintendent of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. Seeing my mother struggle, I have learnt so much about life and her being such a positive person has made me what I am largely today. Her success shows in my work and me and my sisters happiness largely today!

I am working as a Dermatologist, Internationally trained aesthetic surgeon and allergy specialist at my own clinics in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Jaipur. I am also a former Honorary Dermatologist to the President Estate Clinic, Rashtrapati Bhawan. My main focus at the moment is on a study I am carrying out on the research of stem cells in anti ageing which I will be able to disclose in a years time hopefully.

Tell us about any current projects or initiatives you wish to promote

I am quietly trying to do what little I can towards kerosene burn victims and women empowerment in poor sectors. My wish is to be able to do a big skill development project which could provide jobs to several people both women and men in different countries owing to certified training as skilled labour in beauty, laser and cosmetic fields.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

The biggest challenge has only been me! I never believed at several occasions that this can happen, though some positive spirit in me kept attempting to tell me that I could achieve success. After a while, yes it all just happened.

What has been your greatest achievement personally?

I feel its financial independence for this lifetime first and foremost!

If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

I would have been a graduate from NIFT and hopefully would have became a fashion designer! Actually, that’s quite close to what I am today! A cosmetic fashion skin designer doctor!

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

I have several! Starting from my mother who was there for all my life, to few teachers at school, college, serval doctors like Dr Prof Ring in Germany with whom I did mentorship for a month, Dr Niwatpol in Bangkok with whom I did fellowship for 2 months and Dr Jamuna Pai in Mumbai with whom I worked for a year. Besides, I feel inspired daily looking at my staff who all look up towards me.. It all just keeps me going.

What does the future hold for you?

I think the future looks very bright for me, as my vision includes helping several in society attached to me and not attached to me grow! I hope to be able to touch people’s lives as a Doctor, a teacher to students, a carer to my patients and my family.
