I have a Masters in management studies with 15 years of corporate multi-industry experience.

Tell us about strombss.com

I set up the company in 2008 to make natural, nutritious foods in convenient forms for the health-conscious global consumer. Strombss is an acronym for strong minds and bodies and was conceived as an idea that germinated out of my need to supplement my children’s diet with natural nutritious foods. Hence the source of all nutrition in our products is from sprouted grains and legumes.

There is no product on the market today that is as natural, as nutritious or as convenient (our product is in powder form in single serve sachets. Just blend in warm milk and drink your breakfast/mini-meal as you like it – hot or chilled). With the Strombss range of health shakes we have succeeded to a large extent in getting grains into kids’ tummies and made sprouts more palatable. Our customers are proud to claim that health foods can indeed be delicious and many multi-national consumer food companies are wondering how a product survives without any of the chemicals they use.

Tell us about your association with WeConnect? How has it helped your entrepreneurship journey?

It has opened up doors of large institutional businesses that would have otherwise been difficult to crack.

Why do you think women should participate in Think Big this year?

Firstly, a we connect conference helps you guage the women entrepreneur eco-system available around us. Secondly, being among a room full of women entrepreneurs is in itself inspirational.

Thirdly, at the start-up stage, it is always beneficial to be associated with a support system like WeConnect that handholds you like a mother-figure until you have found a steady balance to stand and push ahead on your own steam. Fourthly and most importantly, being a member of WeConnect is like being a part of a large family where you are secure in the fact that you are not alone in this entrepreneurial journey.

What advice do you have for women starting out on their own?

Spend as much time building on your idea until you have clarity of thought and a clear vision. Set high professional standards and service levels for your business by benchmarking against an ideal corporate business. Operating flexi-hours and/or from home does not mean that you compromise on professionalism and quality levels.

If you could ask for one thing to help propel your business what would it be?

A closer knit, more vibrant and pro-active network to leverage the global community.

What does the future hold for you?

Immense possibilities and opportunities to fulfil my vision of giving the world a “Satvik diet/yoga food” from India.
