WATC India is delighted to announce that one of our current bloggers, Monisha Doley, has won the coveted title of Miss Ethnic India 2015.
Monisha was first featured as an Inspirational Woman on the site back in July 2015 and has since gone on to write a number of inspirational articles such as, ‘What to do when things don’t go your way’ and ‘Are you in love?’
Monisha is a life coach, motivational speaker and author of the #1 Amazon bestselling ebook, ‘Get High on Spirit’- a guidebook that takes you from feeling stuck to complete personal freedom and miracles. She is 26 years old and her background is hospitality and aviation.
The first Craftsvilla Miss Ethnic competition was held in Mumbai, with Bihu dancer Monisha Doley (hailing from Lakhimpur, Assam) bagging the coveted title. Rajasthani folk dancer Dr Shivangi Maletia and Carnatic music exponent from Kerala, Sajani Pallath, were the first and second runners-up respectively.
Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, administrator Chandra Iyengar, political and social worker Shaina NC, fashion designer Archana Kochhar, grooming expert Divya Bhatnagar and makeup guru Dorris Godambe formed the jury. While hosts Monica and Manoj Gupta kept the evening simple and reverent, Shaan entertained the guests with his peppy numbers.
Craftsvilla.com, touted to be India’s largest online ethnic marketplace, and Monica, who conceptualised the pageant, said, “We received 50,000 entries from the remotest corners of the country — Sri Ganganagar, Hoshiarpur, Hoshangabad, Imphal, Faridabad, Raipur and Idukki. We were looking for women who have built their identity around something ethnic.”
