After having completed my Masters in Technology from IIT Roorkee in 2007, I got the opportunity to work with industry biggies like Symantec as well as several early to mid-level startups like Komli Media, Snapstick and Localbanya. I have led tech teams to scale up start-ups across several cities and services, until I thought of doing the same for my own venture StitchMyFit.com!

The birth of StitchMyFit was pretty much need based. I faced a personal conundrum for getting well fitted clothes, and had to waste precious hours outside the trial rooms trying to find the right fit in the non-standardized “standard” fit clothes. That’s when the thought occurred for creating a doorstep service for customizable women’s wear.

StitchMyFit.com offers doorstep made-to-measure women’s Indian wear, offered by a curated list of boutiques on our platform. Customer can book a free stylist session to get her measurements taken at the comfort of her home! She can also customize the colour, neckline, sleeves and more.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

The boutique marketplace model offering made-to-measure dresses is a new concept for the Indian ladies. Ladies have always associated online shopping with ill-fitting standard sizes. It has been quite a task in creating awareness initially that StitchMyFit.com is a platform where you can get bespoke designer and casual wear by availing of our doorstep sessions (in Mumbai) or uploading your own measurements on the website. But innovative marketing techniques are helping us cross this barrier.

What has been your greatest achievement personally?

I started StitchMyFit.com when my son was just a toddler. At first, it seemed like a challenge looking after my son along with my second baby StitchMyFit. But with my family’s constant support and my perseverance, I am getting better at it! The key is to prioritize things correctly, even at a daily basis.

If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

If it weren’t for StitchMyFit, I would have probably continued working for other kickass startups helping them use technology as an enabler for more efficient and scalable businesses.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

When one is starting up, the highs feel higher and the lows feel lower! One particular quote of Jack Ma always inspires me during the lows –

“Today is hard, tomorrow will be difficult, but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine.”

Jack Ma has always been an inspiration with his vision and business acumen.

What does the future hold for you?

StitchMyFit is going international soon. Our Indian ladies settled abroad are always at a loss for options in trendy ethnic and Indo-western wear. Through StitchMyFit.com, they will now be able to get the latest trends and niche designs made as per their measurements they can upload using our simple DIY measurement tool.

I can be reached personally on [email protected].

Our business coordinates are [email protected] and +91-80804-69069.
