Inspirational Women: Smithaa M Chaturvedi | Founder of Divine Vibrations

Tell us about yourself, your background and what you do currently

Science and spirituality have always been the two eyes I saw the world with.

A Master’s Degree in Zoology acquainted me with the workings of physical bodies, and interactions with spiritual masters led to my understanding of higher realms. The subtle connection between the two is a continuous source of fascination for me. This fascination is the reason for my absorption of any knowledge that the Almighty chooses for me.

I started my Career as a lecturer at the age of 22 in some of the most prestigious colleges of Mumbai. Life changed for me when I got married at the age of 24 into an ultra-conservative family. After enduring for 12 yrs I found the strength to stand up against an abusive marriage and oppressive in-laws.

I have worked in many known and famous Multinational companies.

Later I went on to become an Entrepreneur starting my own business of promotional gifts that I supplied to corporate clients through the company “Savvy Effects”.

But I believe God/Universe has been very kind to me, as I always found helping and supportive friends and today I have everything I need.

All the struggle and challenges made me go deep within to understand what life is. It has helped me grow as a person and realise my strengths which I didn’t know existed. I realised every problem comes to teach us a lesson of life and gives us a gift in return.

My soul calling moved me completely towards spreading spirituality and I founded “Divine Vibrations”.

I am a certified Reiki Master, since almost 20 yrs . I went ahead and did Professional Coaching following ICF Competencies, Soul Coach, Shamanic Practitioner, Tarot & Angel Card Reader, Pendulum Dowsing Trainer, Aura Cleanser & Energiser, Chakra Healer & Aligner, Curejoy Expert. I am also the Chairperson of the Mumbai Chapter of All ladies league.

Divine Vibrations is dedicated to helping individuals in eliminating stress and dealing with depression, trauma, losses & death. Additionally they assist in manifesting goals, building joyous relationships, gaining confidence and increasing the emotional & spiritual quotient. Divine Vibrations also conducts workshops, seminars and group meditation meetups for corporates and individuals.

I feel the masses relate to the simple and easy to understand techniques that I give which can be integrated into everyday life and are easy to follow. I feel there is a need to simplify spirituality so that more and more people can follow it.

I also have a group called “Urban Spirituality” which teaches people to integrate spirituality in the Urban lifestyle.

I have been recently interviewed by Radio One as a Women of Strength.

I have also received prestigious awards like The Women of Worthiness award for Reiki and life coaching

And ISHMA global award for Clairvoyance and Shamanic healing.

I have clients all over India and in many other countries too.

My clients include many Film and TV personalities and heads of companies but for I believe in being down to earth and feel that I am a “Fakir at heart” an hence all who come to me are equal.

I also like to be involved in a lot of charity and philanthropy, giving time and resources to the underprivileged.

In between all this I also find time to follow my passion for dancing and started learning kathak at the age of 43. I also trained in many western dance forms and am an Adventure sports enthusiast. I also writes poems and blogs and have made my own website and promotional video.

Tell us about any current projects or initiatives you wish to promote

The Divine Vibrations Vedic Wellness Centre.

The Vedic  way of life has its origin in the remote past. Since then, like the river Ganga, it has been flowing uninterruptedly, integrating within itself many small streams to become an all-comprehensive, eco-friendly way of human life. Though it has taken many turns; but its march has been forward encouraging humans to attain divinity and glory. Our country was called “Sone Ki Chidiya ” when the Vedic Lifestyle was followed.

In spite of the various attacks and wars faced, our Vedic culture could survive because it is based on scientific and ecological factors. Sages and saints have delved into the secrets of creation through their Yogic power and gave humanity the basis of Dharma in the form of VedasVedas are not the products of human intelligence; they are the records of eternal truth as discovered by rishis (sages).

The Vedas are said to be knowledge directly received from the source. They contain the philosophies of life.

The Vedic lifestyle teaches us how to live in harmony and peace with nature. It promotes balance and moderation in food habits and behaviour.

We need to synchronise with nature and live a balanced life.  Eating healthy home grown organic and chemical free food, yoga and pranayama, meditation, chanting and stress free atmosphere  makes our bodies healthy, keeps our mind stress free , fills our heart with happiness and makes our soul feel at peace.

I further wish to take this forward by encouraging people to live a healthier and eco-friendly life style. I have done intensive research on our old Vedic culture that existed in India before and realised the scientific and ecological benefits of our rituals and traditions.

The state of Mother Earth is also a constant concern for me and I wish to contribute whatever little I can to protect her and take her back to her past glory.

Through this Wellness centre I wish to:

  1. Protect deterioration of Mother Earth and reinstate ecological balance (at least to what little extent I can)
  2. Grow more trees, fruits and vegetables Organically
  3. Improve the lifestyle of people and encourage healthy living habits
  4. Create a home for destitute women by offering them employment and support at the centre to be self-sufficient and live with dignity.
  5. Start a small school for their children and of the villagers to start their Vedic education from a small age.

The total cost of the project is 1.5 Cr. 45 lakhs is the initial amount that will help us procure the land and create the boundary wall, initial living spaces, the well and plant fruit trees.

In the second phase we plan to start the wellness centre, grow vegetables, procure the cows and dogs and create homes for them.

In the third phase we plan to start the school and activities centre.

We also plan to open similar centres in other parts of the world.

This will be one of its kind centre and we request your contributions so we may establish the old Vedic culture and traditions again to lead a happier and stress free life.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

Though there are many challenges a single divorced woman faces in this world, I feel the biggest challenge is to change your own limiting beliefs and guilty feelings.

What has been your greatest achievement personally?

Even when I was going through my own personal problems, (which were many believe me), I could be compassionate and kind and help others solve their issues, that I feel was difficult but I have managed most of the times.

If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

I would be a kathak dancer!

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Life itself.

What does the future hold for you?

Lots of love, peace and happiness!!
