Tell us about yourself, your background and what you do currently

Hello, Bonjour, Hola, Ciao and Namaste everyone. My name is Bhavana Bhatia and I am officially paid to talk. Well you heard that right; I am an award winning emcee in the industry spreading smiles since 2010. I till date recollect my first show with the master blaster himself, Mr Sachin Tendulkar. The magnetic energy, the cheers and jeers of the fans, I knew this was it and I haven’t looked back ever since .Post that I have travelled internationally for many shows and met many celebrities across my shows being Priyanka Chopra for Dabur, Kirti sanon for Trident, Remo D’Souza for ABCD, Mahima Chaudhary for Hem group of companies, Sonu Sood & Sushmita Sen for Sab ke Anokhe Awards to name a few. Anchoring comes naturally to me. It was back in 4th standard that I held the mike for the first time for a show in my mother, Mrs Ritu Bhatia’s, chain of preschools in India called India Kids.

Also I have a fond memory of being a soccer player and leading my team in Bombay Scottish School. The early morning practices, the matches at Azad maidan and yes the bus journeys to reach the ground during the tournament days will always be very close to my heart.

One of the game changing moments were declining the job at Google which I had got during my placement round in St. Xavier’s College and later dropping out of my MBA which just made me realise that yes Media was my field despite being a scholar and having aptitude for other jobs as well .

Also I put in efforts into growing business with my brother, Anubhav Bhatia, who is the director of his start up in India called ZillonLife Global Pvt Ltd whose mission is to be India’s Most Trusted home security and Lifestyle Company brand. I feel doing a business is a very enriching experience and one should work hard as it can be very rewarding and fulfilling.

Tell us about any current projects or initiatives you wish to promote

Well my upcoming season looks great. I already have many shows blocked and also the new development in my career has been my exclusive tie up with The BiggFoot Entertainment. After being 7 years in the industry having done umpteen number of shows, I felt it was a right time to associate with a talent management company to take my branding to the next level all together.
As an anchor, I really look forward to doing quality events. I love interacting with the audience. I don’t believe an anchor should just stand behind the podium, smile, look pretty and carry any sort of air or attitude. I feel an anchor being the face of the show should reflect what the brand is all about, bring energy in the crowd and deliver the message. I love wrapping up an event with my audience, my client and my events team being happy because that feeling is the most fulfilling feeling 🙂

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

Well the field of media wholly is a very challenging field but the challenges are what make this field so very exciting. I always have to look at ways to better myself, develop more quality interactions and always scout for new and innovative ways to present myself better. I have been very blessed these 7 years have had the best and biggest of the clients across the world who has hired me as the Master of Ceremonies for their events. Clients like Mahindra’s, Tata, Reliance, Crompton & Greaves, P&G, Olay, Volvo, Schlumberger, Country Club , Cognizant, Accenture, Samsung, IPhone , Nokia to name a few .

What has been your greatest achievement personally?
My greatest achievement has been the risk I took on turning down a brilliant job with Google, dropping out of my MBA to venture into the field of media and successfully completing over1000 shows in the past 7 years. Also in 2014 I was nominated as the best anchor in India at the Wow Awards and I have also done a Telegu movie back in 2012.
If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

Honestly I am living the life of my dreams. I love stage so much that I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. Everything to do with stage brings me to life

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Well it’s a real different answer.

My inspiration has been my experiences in life itself. Whenever life has made me feel defeated it has been my experiences of joy that inspire me to go all out. I personally feel one can inspire themselves through their own unique experiences and if it had to be a person it definitely would be my family. My dad for always believing in me and never laying a doubt on me and always being my silent admirer , my mom for being the rock she has been , I love her and she inspirers me every day with her energy and smile and yes my big brother who is somebody who I have so much to learn from . I am blessed.

What does the future hold for you?
Well I see myself conducting a successful chat show and a travel show where I would travel and cover the world through my eyes and words. Travelling and anchoring are my two passions. So if I can successfully combine both through any social medium I am sure to win over many hearts. Also I would be open to getting to movies with substance. Maybe an action role as that is something that fascinates me. Also I would be keen on diversifying my investment portfolio and grow ZillonLife with my brother & the team and expansion of Mom’s schools, India Kids.
