A distinguished alumnus of the IIM Ahmedabad, Roopa Kudva holds the top position as the managing director and CEO of CRISIL, a world-wide known analytical company which offers ratings, research risk and policy advisory services to companies all over the world. This month, she became the winner of the prestigious Woman of the Year Award bestowed by the Ladies Wing of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber for the year 2013-14 and added one more distinguished feather to her highly decorated cap!

Holder of a post graduate degree from the IIM, Roopa has 20 years of varied experience across various business sectors. Market sources say that during her tenure at CRISIL, it’s revenue and market capitalization increased threefold and its customer base from a mere 1000 to a whopping 50000!
The company has grown impressively and is considered an international leader. What is more, under Ms. Kudwa’s leadership, India’s Finance Ministry created the Crisil Inchusix index to measure the extent of financial inclusion in India. Roopa is thus often counted among the most powerful women by Fortune and Business Today magazines.
