Almost as soon as I could write, I imagined stories and poems. After finishing my education in Germany and returning to my roots in Sri Lanka, I got a chance to turn my passion into my profession. I started working as a content provider first, and I still write German articles as my main job. In 2013 I decided to write and publish my first novel.

Having lived in Germany and in Sri Lanka with my husband, it has made me experience the best (and the worst) of two totally different worlds – something that influences my writing. My trademark is writing sweet, yet deeply emotional romance stories where the characters actually fall in love instead of merely falling in lust.

What I love most about being an author is the chance to create new worlds and send my protagonists on a journey full of ups and downs that will leave them changed. I draw inspiration from everyone and everything in life.

Besides being a romance novel author and a self-employed German web content writer, I am a freelance translator, and a faithful servant to all the cats, dogs, fish and birds in my home. When I’m not writing, I’m reading or thinking about writing.

I recently released the contemporary romance novel “Kaleidoscope of Hopes”, which is all about second chances. In March, I’ll be releasing my 4th book, “Saved in Sri Lanka”. It’s very dear to my heart because it focuses on this beautiful country in the Indian Ocean. I’ve also co-authored the romantic suspense novel “Forbidden” with bestselling author Mike Wells, which will be released this month.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?
web KOH

Finding the courage to pursue my dream. And marketing is a challenge if you’re a self-published writer – especially if you’re an introvert like me. It was a new experience to go out there and be present on social media to promote my books. Although it’s also fun, I still think I like the actual writing part of being an author the most.

If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

I’d probably still be stuck in a regular office job as a secretary or assistant, which isn’t all that bad. Or I’d work as a translator because I love languages. I can more or less speak eight languages, and I want to learn some more.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Oh, there are too many people to name! I especially look up to all those female authors who have made it big and inspired others to follow their example. Arundhati Roy, Margaret Atwood, Nora Roberts and Anne Rice are among the authors and personalities I love most.

What does the future hold for you?

Many more books, I hope. Although romance is clearly my preferred genre, I want to venture into other genres too, though that will take some more time.
