Tell us about yourself
I pursued my masters in HRM from Middlesex University in London after which I was an HR assistant at Phillips Electrolux for around two years. I am currently CEO of SavePocketMoney.com – a student based start-up which offers big name brand discounts to students across India.
Tell us about any current initiatives you are working on
We are coming up with the SavePocketMoney.com App aiming to make it handy and easier for the students to access all the deals. Besides, we have been participating in most of the college festivals across Mumbai to give students a better understanding of the website and to promote ourselves.
What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?
Most difficulties we faced were whilst convincing the brands for student discounts which is the first of its kind concept in India. But very positively we have been successful by far with more than 100 brands on board!
What has been your greatest achievement personally?
By far I feel being out of my comfort zone and handling a business whilst juggling between my professional and personal life has been my greatest achievement. And of course seeing my dream grow bigger and bigger with each passing day.
If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?
Had I not decided to keep up my passion for working and learning constantly I might have ended up being a homemaker.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
I have been constantly learning from various life experiences and people who have played a key role in shaping my perspectives. My family has always taught me the best values in life and my husband has been a continuous source of motivation for me to be self-contained.
What does the future hold for you?
It is very challenging to disrupt traditional ways and create new markets. Seeing savepocketmoney.com soar sky high and at the same time constantly doing something for the betterment of the student community is what we look forward to.
