It was a sparkling affair as members of WeAreTheCity India turned out for the first networking event of the year in Mumbai on 30 January 2015.
Hosted by Reliance Jewels, the aim of the event was to educate members on the properties of gold and diamonds, while providing much needed advice on attributes to look out for when making that important jewellery purchase. Speakers came from different departments starting with the Branch Manager, Neeraj Bavishi, who introduced Reliance Jewels and gave a brief company overview. Next to speak was Jigna Vyas, Head of Diamond Merchandising, who explained the different types of diamonds and shared the manufacturing process.
Head of Gold Merchandising, Hiten Mastram, then spoke about gold and the importance of ensuring its purity, illustrated by an informative video. Head of Design, Vimal Oza, explained how Reliance Jewels keeps up with the latest trends while always keeping sight of consumer tastes.Finally Mr Harsh Shah, Chief Operations Managers, gave helpful tips to the audience on the all important attributes to look out for when buying gold or diamonds.Speaking after the event, Co-Chair of WeAreTheCity India, Jo Gaglani, commented: ‘This first event of 2015 was very well conducted, informative and interactive. Members thoroughly enjoyed it. Our thanks go to Reliance Events, and in particular Mr Harsh Shah, for providing their premises and their expertise and for hosting such an enjoyable event.”Dimple Luniya, Co Chair of WATC India, said: “This is the first of a series of partnered events that we plan to roll out over the course of the year. One of WeAreTheCity’s objectives is to connect women by providing a platform for networking.”
