Tell us about yourself, your background and what you do currently
I am a yoga teacher based in Los Angeles and I travel the world leading retreats and teacher trainings.
Where are you living currently and why did you choose that location?
I live in Los Angeles because I am American and LA has the best weather, best organic healthy food, and yoga! I travel a lot and I am always interested in living in other places. The good food and sun light keep me in LA!
I’ve travelled to India four times and spent two months there on each trip. I have a deep connection to India and it touches places deep within my soul each time I visit. I have travelled all through India staying in ashrams, studying yoga, enjoying the beautiful beaches and mountains.
What do you miss most about living abroad?
I like being in a different place. I love learning about new cultures and the elements such as food, language, every day rituals that make up what a culture is about. I’ve lived abroad before and I continue to travel the world like it’s my back door so I can embrace this newness that you gain from being abroad.

What do you like most about your current location?
The sun, the yoga, the food. The fact that nature completely surrounds me yet I can get dressed up and go out to a nice dinner at the same time.
Did you face any particular challenges moving away from India?
It’s always a challenge leaving India, at the same time I become very grateful for the abundance in my life. I miss the sweetness of the people and the simplicity when I leave India. Certain parts of the world, like LA, are so fast they forget to connect with their surroundings and people around them. I slow down when I’m in India, and find my heart and soul opens up more.
Do you think you’ll go back to India one day?
Yes next year!
