I’ve had the opportunity to start my career at Barclays last year after graduating with MSc. Economics from the London School of Economics.
Working as part of a global team in the FI credit risk space has helped me gain insights into EU and Latam regions I cover. I continue to learn every day and seek to achieve excellence in all my work. The opportunities and responsibility I have been given have helped me develop.
As a global citizen, I would like to make positive contributions to my environment outside work as well. One way has been through my artwork – I’ve exhibited my work involving themes of Indian economic development.
I’ve volunteered with the NGO Indian Development Foundation (IDF), where I painted posters spreading awareness on issues including women empowerment and education, as well as conducted art workshops for underprivileged school children. I also tutor undergraduate economics via Skype to students studying in various countries (Pakistan, Mauritius, Germany, Azerbaijan to name a few), studying courses from the University of London international programmes.
I have recently started working with the NGO “Saturday Art Class” which is aiming to transform primary education through art, by incorporating values through artwork. They conduct art classes on Saturdays in various schools (for the underprivileged) across Mumbai. If I am selected for this award I would like to use this platform to support and spread awareness about Saturday Art Class.
