Nidhi Arora is the founder of Esha – People for the Blind and the co-founder of Topgain Consulting Pvt. Ltd.
After graduating from IIM Cal in 2001, she has worked as a corporate citizen and a social entrepreneur.
Esha (the organisation started by Nidhi) works towards Dignity, Empowerment and Enablement of the visually challenged. As a social entrepreneur, Nidhi spearheads 3 important initiatives in the area of visual disability – Creating Blind Entrepreneurs(www.braillecards.org); Creating and maintaining India’s largest online audio library in Indian languages(www.clabil.org); and General public sensitisation to the needs of the specially abled.
She feels that for growth to be inclusive, everyone must have access to knowledge resources on demand, not just the English literate population of the world. Women, being at the non receiving end of formal education in most parts of India, stand to gain from a library that is available without literacy, on demand and without expense.
