After having worked with Google India for a year and a half, I realized I wasn’t cut out for the corporate world. I realized any work that did not affect lives in some way would not interest me. Since I was passionate about teaching, I volunteered with Teach for India (TFI) and taught primary kids in a Government school for about six months.
Later, during my masters, I interned with The Red Elephant Foundation (where I continue to volunteer) and worked on other educational initiatives as well (such as Tale Weavers – a storytelling platform for kids around themes of breaking stereotypes, gender equality and financial literacy).
I now work with PeriFerry, a social entrepreneurial initiative that works on uplifting the transgender community by getting them mainstream jobs, and sensitizing workplaces about LGBT as well.
