Megha Bahuguna is a Civil engineer by profession but a fashion and beauty enthusiast from heart. She believes in encouraging everyone to follow their passion be it sports, technical or a creative field as long as it’s anything rather than following what society wants you to do. She has a Youtube channel named Perkymegs. She loves her Indian roots and tries to show stylish Indian ethnic fashion through her Youtube videos along with beauty and makeup videos. She is a firm believer of hard work, dedication and positivity to be the mantra of success in life. Thinking with the brain is important and following your heart is what makes life magical. Tell us about yourself, your background and what you do currently
I am a civil engineer by profession and makeup & fashion is my passion. I make fashion, makeup and beauty related videos on my YouTube channel named Perkymegs. I believe in following passion because there is only one life we have got so we should do what we love otherwise we would end up behaving like robots. I love music, dancing, cooking and love everything about life. I absolutely love our Indian ethnic wears and constantly try to change the wrong perception that indian ethnic wears are plain and boring. I love to show different quirky, fun and stylish ways to style Indian ethnic wears and I hope I am contributing a little everyday.
Tell us about any current projects or initiatives you wish to promote
I am running my Youtube channel named Perkymegs with full passion. I mainly do Indian ethnic wear Lookbooks, western lookbooks, fashion tips and makeup tutorials.
What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?
Running a Youtube channel with a 9 to 5 job is quite challenging as consistency of videos is an important factor in running a channel. Time management has been my biggest challenge so far but where there is a will there is a way. Youtubing is my passion and that’s why I don’t feel tired even after working 15 hours a day daily. Youtube gave me the unlimited canvas of drawing my creativity.
What has been your greatest achievement personally?
When people write to me that my videos have changed their lives it literally gives my life a purpose. I consider it my greatest achievement that I am bringing positive changes in peoples’ life and girls are getting more confident after watching my videos. I have made quite a good base with more than 67,000 Youtube subscribers in 1.5 years and I give all the credit to my love followers who have showered unconditional love on me and my channel.
If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?
May be a singer as I just love music and I wanted to learn it professionally.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
My mom has been my biggest inspiration in my life as she has made me the kind of Woman I am today. She has taught me to be independent, confident, voice my opinion and be down to earth. Whatever I am today is all because of her and the support of my husband. My husband has supported my unconditionally in this new journey of running my own Youtube channel and he is my pillar strength.
What does the future hold for you?
I want my Youtube channel to reach millions of people and make a place in their heart. I specially want girls to feel beautiful and confident from inside.
