Tell us about yourself
I’m the founder, face and creative director of GirlWithCurves.com, an award-winning fashion and beauty site. I’m also a wife and a mother of two – an almost two-year old boy named Narayan and a three-year old English bulldog named Kingston!
What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?
Balancing work and family. As a working mother running my own business, my time is precious and it’s often hard to find balance and manage everything, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I absolutely love what I do for a living.
What has been your greatest achievement personally?
Helping women. I’ve always wanted to do something to help women, whether it be help adolescent girls overcome eating disorders or be a life coach to achieve confidence and self-esteem. I’m extremely humbled that I’m able to do these things through my blog in the form of helping women find confidence through fashion.
If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?
A dermatologist or a psychiatrist.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
My husband inspires me everyday to pursue my dreams. His motto is no dream is too big and he’s been my biggest support since starting the blog back in 2011.
What does the future hold for you?
I hope to continue helping women through transforming GWC into a webzine dedicated to all things plus size fashion and beauty.
GirlWithCurves is one of India’s most influential fashion and beauty sites for plus size women. Founded in 2011 by Tanesha Awasthi, the award-winning site is one part blog and one part glossy mag, providing outfit inspiration, beauty tutorials, styling tips and a glimpse into Awasthi’s lifestyle as a wife, mother and top fashion influencer.
Tanesha Awasthi is one of the first digital influencers to break fashion’s size barrier, working with brands in both the straight and plus size space as stylist, model, consultant and creative director.
