Raised by army parents, I grew up with reasonably liberated ideas. I went to a public school, and am used to having adjectives like responsible, mature, and capable prefixed to me. I can never remember not wanting a career and I have worked against a lot of stiff north Indian resistance to become a career woman.
I love experimenting with life, defying rigid society rules to come out with something that has meaning for me. I find change quite fascinating and challenging. I love life and positivity is my special strength.
I made a dramatic career change moving from hard core banking to training and development. This was interesting as I had to go back for another master’s programme.
At Tatvã, we strongly believe that creating an inclusive culture in organisations should go hand-in-hand with development of women for leadership, and above all, the change can only be effective if it is led from the top.
I am an entrepreneur who has had the privilege of setting up two companies. My current company, Tatvã Leadership does in-depth work in building Leadership pipelines in organisations through designing customised interventions and personalised executive coaching.
I, myself, have had the opportunity to work with over 15,000 people and coach over 1000 executives. As I started working with senior management teams an interesting pattern began to unravel. I began to notice that the teams had very few women and in many cases, no women at all. All the bright sparks I had worked with at junior levels seemed to have left the organisation or had chosen to remain in roles they had been executing for a long time.
This piqued a passion which led to my present focus on supporting organisations in building an inclusive culture and developing Women Leadership pipelines.
At Tatvã, we strongly believe that creating an inclusive culture in organisations should go hand-in-hand with development of women for leadership, and above all, the change can only be effective if it is led from the top. We are focussed on making a ‘wholesome change’ by working with the top management, carrying out awareness and sensitisation workshops and working with the women themselves.
Additionally, as a result of this passion, my experience in coaching leaders of the industry is now also being focussed at coaching women for senior management positions.
I hope to be part of a future where there are more women in leadership positions and will continue to be part of the change that makes this future possible. I am indeed grateful to existence for its generosity in providing me with fabulous opportunities to work with wonderful people and interesting projects.
