Styleogram is the brainchild of two best friends, Shruti Rathi and Mallika Singhania.
Shruti Rathi
After completing her graduation in E-commerce and Digital Business from Nottingham University, Shruti worked in the editorial department of Femina. She then published a few books on fashion. Simultaneously, she also runs a successful home product line and is a freelance writer for online publications such as Buzzfeed.
Mallika Singhania
Mallika had a column with DNA for four years on shopping in the city. She also published books on fashion. Mallika ran a fashion e-commerce venture for 4 years before selling it in 2014.

Styleogram is your daily style-telegram, giving you the latest fashion and beauty stories that are relevant to you.
Tell us about the company you have set up – when did you set it up, what products or services do you provide, what is your target market?
Our blog website for Styleogram launched in September 2015. We are a content providing platform presenting the best of fashion and style stories from around the world. The only products we sell are advertisements, advertorials and social media marketing for brands across our blog and social media assets.
Our target market is urban Indian women from the age of 18-35 years and the NRI audiences.
Why did you set up the company? / What drove you to become an Entrepreneur?
While Mallika was working on her e-commerce project she felt a gap in the market for a fashion-related content platform to advertise and use for product placements. Thus seeing the need and with our expertise and the success of independent content platform in different fields in India, we decided to set up an online, content-driven, fashion platform that is of international quality.
What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?
As we have an extremely customised design and wanted a user-friendly back-end, the development phase posed a few challenges. However, we have now attained a truly international standard website design with a very user-friendly back-end and customised content management system.
What has been your greatest achievement so far?
It has just been two months since we have launched and we have seen our website traffic double from our first month. This has been very encouraging. We have also had some great events and collaborations.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
Miss Malini who has created an independent media house and Anaita Shroff Adjania who seamlessly balances being the country’s leading stylist and mom.
How do you balance your work life and home life?
It’s a tough rope, balancing the two. However we have set work times and believe in giving our 100% to the job we are focusing on, whether it’s family or work.
What advice do you have for women starting out on their own?
There’s a lot to achieve, keep your spirits high, be thorough with your approach and keep persevering. Perseverance and a vision is key to success.
If you could ask for one thing to help propel your business what would it be?
As a startup we are looking to grow our market share at a steady pace and would be open to investment in the future.
What does the future hold for you?
In the future we see Styleogram as a market leader and fashion authority in the digital fashion space. We could also expand our portfolio to other verticals such as home, lifestyle and travel.
