First of all thanks to the Rising Star Awards team for giving us an opportunity to showcasing the talents of others, and a special thanks to the Marks & Spencer team who nominated me – they thought that I am a deserving candidate.
I started my career with MOM & ME as a sales executive and where I was a fresher in retail which was a learning phase of mine.
From there my journey in retail industry was through MAX and then Marks & Spencer. It was a great learning throughout, I used to learn from each one of them whom I meet, everyone has something or the other to learn.
I’ve started my career in Marks & Spencer 4 years ago as a Finance & Operation supervisor. Since then my career growth has been awesome, learnt the process and implemented. Even though I used to do small mistakes in M&S people have nurtured me along. The entire team of M&S were supportive to me to grow to the next level as Finance & Operation Manager.
M&S gave me opportunity in all the GO and I’ve utilized the same. When there was no Store Manager in M&S Froum mall, my seniors thought I was the right person to handle the store and I was sent to take care of the store. As a FOM I used to do all my tasks on time and as per the process. I have been scoring always 98%+ in my Cost RVT’s which was conducted by Regional team. My regional manager Sheen used to call me as his Champion FOM.
From Froum mall, Chennai{ small size store} then to Phoenix Market city, Chennai { Medium size store} now to M&S Express avenue {large size store- which is no. 1 store in south region} my growth has been steady and great. Currently M&S store in Express avenue is without a store manager, which was an opportunity for me to showcase my ability to handle the no. 1 store along with the commercial manager. overall it was a great opportunity for me.
I feel that I’m rising in my career all the way through.
