I grew up in Mumbai and studied my first degree – a BA Honours – then I did my LLB degree LLB at the Government Law College and a diploma in administration management from Jamnalal Management Institute. When I came to London I continued with my banking studies doing AIM up to Part II. Where are you living currently and why did you choose that location?
I’m currently in London UK. I got married and moved to join my husband here.
Why did you move away from India?
Before we got married my husband received a scholarship to study in Oxford for three years. W decided to stay here after we married.
What do you miss most about living abroad?
The culture of India.
What do you like most about your current location?
Working in various investment banks during my career in London and travelling around the globe. London is a tremendous place to find great travel deals and during my career in banking I was lucky enough to visit the US a couple of times.
Did you face any particular challenges moving away from India?
None!
Who in particular helped you during your transition?
My husband
Do you live in an Indian community?
No. I live in Surrey which is a very green, leafy and lush suburb of London with lots of parks around yet it still takes me only 27 mins to commute to London!
Do you think you’ll go back to India one day?
Yes eventually when I get older, I do miss the sun in winter.
