I am a go-getter who creates its own benchmarks and believes in working hard to make my dreams into a breathing reality .I am an ardent cricket follower and I can swear by Bollywood . I believe in family and find my ultimate peace in the company of them . Everything that I am today or wish to be in times to come …..I will owe it all to everyone in my family who comprise of my parents , my in-laws , my supper supportive husband and my loving son who no matter I have won the day or lost it ….welcomes me with the same warmth which heals my souls and prepares me for the next day’

Tell us about any current projects you are involved in?

I am currently involved in many existing fundraiser projects which includes Ramp for Champs and Cook for Smile and plans are to scale up these properties to the best of its caliber. I am also involved in planning for a mega charity dinner this year in Mumbai to support the cause of Sanitation and Education for less privileged kids in India.

The feeling of working on these concepts from scratch and seeing them grow is the best kick I get from my work and what leaves me content at the end of the day is the fact that all these efforts helps us spread smiles amongst so many little children. My journey with Smile Foundation has been rewarding in many ways than one …it’s a journey which has not only given me professional growth but it has evolved me as a better human being who is beyond – I , Me and Myself. It has helped me understand the power of a positive change in the best interest of many even though it take a little of your comfort away from you. I am happy that this life gave me a change to do good for so many people in my own little ways.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

I think success can never be defined as I am a firm believer of the fact that you are as good as your last event. There are moments that you get a high and these events in our lives that leave us fulfilled. But, for me the feeling of chasing your own benchmarks and each time defeating your own last best is success.

The biggest challenge in achieving success is the feeling of not believing in your own strengths and ability. Each day I reassure myself that I am on a journey which is beautiful and I need to enjoy it with a confidence that no obstacle has the power to ruin my dreams.

What has been your greatest achievement personally?

My greatest achievement personally has been the fact that I have been able to buy a house along with my husband which we fondly want to name – MaaN ….a blend of both our names. I see this as an achievement as many are not blessed to buy a home of their desire at this early age.

Being married to a family with a strong legacy does put you under a little pressure and a lot of pride….I am working towards making a meaningful life everyday and make my family proud. Thus, everyday there are numerous setback and achievements that I face and I take each as a learning curve .

I am a follower of Rumi and take a lot of my inspiration from his sayings…the two of his famous quotes that help me keep myself together and strive for the best always are :-

“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”

“What you seek is seeking you.”

If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

Honestly, I love what I do to the core and that is the reason why everyday looks like a party. From here when I will move on to something else ….I will look for a few things like going back to one laid back place and open a small bed and breakfast which give you a home away from home ….I personally have preferred these home stays over the five star facilities as they always promise the comfort of a house .

In 5 years from now, I would love to work on a concept like this ….till them I think I am content with the way my work life is going.

Who has been your biggest inspiration ?

For all of us our biggest inspiration is always our mothers …because the best learning that all mothers teach us to love without condition . She has inspired me for the values she holds and has passed on to us.

On the professional front, I am inspired by many woman who have defeated all odds time and again and chased their dreams. The journey of Chanda Kochhar and Indra Nooyi inspire me the most. The reason why I connect with their journey is only because they all started as nobody and today they are at the apex of their careers. Both these woman faced their own set of challenges and they defeated them all. I related to that part of their journey where anyone from anywhere can make it to the best places in the world with a firm dedication and determination to put ones 100 % in today’s job.

Another person who has inspires me and mentors me is Chef Vikas Khanna ….I see him as my guardian angel whom I have gone back for advice on matters concerning every aspect of my life.

What does the future hold for you?

I will be happy to have a small little bed and breakfast at an exotic location and have a happy and content life.

And if you ask of immediate future …..I would love to explore film marketing and brand alliances for mega properties which fall close to the line of work I am currently involved in.
