Inspirational Woman: Preeti Monga | Director of Silver Linings Synergies & Silver Linings Trust

Wow, 18,899 of you have read this.
Preeti-MongaI am a motivational speaker, an aerobic instructor, a corporate trainer, a sales and marketing professional, a fitness and nutrition consultant, a trauma counsellor, a personal development consultant, an author, a public relations expert, a social activist and a successful business woman!

Nothing deters me from living life ‘queen-size! From dreaming daring dreams, to fulfilling each of my passions, nothing holds me back – not even the fact that I have been totally blind since I was a little girl!

I firmly believe that if you truly want something, anything, all you need to do is to take ownership, take things into your own hands, and nothing can ever stop you from achieving your dreams. My mission is to share my secret with the whole world!

I was just six when my disability was discovered. I salute my parents and family for all that I am today. I was courageously supported and guided through major pitfalls and rejections, failures and dejections, and I emerged a glorious winner from every one of them.

I was thrown out of school in class eight and was told I could not become a performing sitarist, even after having dedicated eight hours of diligent sitar practice daily for more than seven years. I was rejected by a number of men on the point of marriage, somehow got wed and had to face a broken marriage. I was a single mother to two children and had to devise ways and means to earn a living with no qualifications to show! The list can go on and yet I am who I am, and I am very proud of who I have become!

I have been informally working in the areas of disability and empowerment of women for over 25 years and formally registered the Silver Linings Foundation in June 2006. The ever-growing necessity for enabling services of the Silver Linings Foundation prodded me to set up an income generating programme which could support and become a sustainable model for philanthropic activities. Hence began the expedition of Silver Linings Synergies Pvt. Ltd!

I firmly believe that if you truly want something, anything, all you need to do is to take ownership, take things into your own hands, and nothing can ever stop you from achieving your dreams. My mission is to share my secret with the whole world!

Nothing deters me from living life ‘queen-size! From dreaming daring dreams, to fulfilling each of my passions, nothing holds me back – not even the fact that I have been totally blind since I was a little girl!

“It is only one life we all have, I want all of us to live it to its best!”
