hey deedee

Tell us about yourself and your background

I am from Mumbai and have been educated here itself. Always had a passion for driving. Have been a rally driver. Its my passion for driving that made me start a business related to that.

Tell us about the company you have set up – when did you set it up, what products or services do you provide, what is your target market?

Hey Deedee is all about training girls and women to stand on their own feet. And we do last mile delivery. Food companies or anyone wanting to do online deliveries.

Why did you set up the company? / What drove you to become an Entrepreneur?

The company was set up purely as a for profit company so that it could become a platform for empowering women. I was always enterprising and my risk taking abilities were quite high fit for an Entrepreneur.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

Many challenges because there are different challenges at different stages. Finance, mobilisation, retention and the list goes on and on.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

Making mobilisation seamless has been our achievement and large corporate houses wanting to associate with us for their CSR fund utilisation

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

The girls who come from defeated backgrounds and are yet willing to learn and try to stand on their feet are my biggest inspiration

How do you balance your work life and home life?

I always say I am gloriously imbalance. What is needed is NOT balance. You need work life and home life integration

What advice do you have for women starting out on their own?

That 1st step is something which they only have to take and risk. Hand holding is up to a limit and then beyond that it’s your own risk.

Can you recommend any organisations or networking groups that have particularly helped you on your journey?

Every meeting or any people who I have met or spoken to have helped in my own growth.

If you could ask for one thing to help propel your business what would it be?

Funds for training and a few regulatory changes.

What does the future hold for you?

We will be the largest platform for women’s empowerment by 2020, with a lack of women working on our platform thereby making it the largest real time logistics platform by women anywhere in the world.
