Confident, vivacious and young, are the three adjectives that best describe Khushboo Kapoor. A DJ and anchor by profession, Khushboo is now ready to make a mark in the field of singing, with her new album. Read on as we talk to her about her achievements and the inspiration behind her.

Khushboo Kapoor is a model, DJ, anchor and singer. She has hosted over 3500 shows and won many awards. Recently, she has been awarded at Istanbul, Turkey for being the most successful DJ & Anchor of Asia.

She is the first female DJ of the world who possesses a Doctorate degree.

Khushboo was born in Delhi on 13th April. She was a shy person during her school days, but the winning of a fashion show at the age of twelve boosted her confidence level. Since then she has won many such contests such as the Best Model of North India and other titles likes Ms. Beautiful Skin, Ms. beautiful eyes etc.

Her anchoring career started with a remuneration of Rs.500 per show. Since then she has done more than 3000 concerts and shows worldwide for over 1500 corporate and has shared stage with various Bollywood and TV celebrities.

She has hosted Champions league 20-20, One day international cricket, BCCI events and IPL parties, many political events and Award Ceremonies in presence of former President of India Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi, M.S.Dhoni, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan etc.

She took up DJing in 2005 and got her initial lessons from a professional DJ. In 2016, Khushboo has hosted shows at Hong Kong, Macau, Doha, Abu Dabhi, Sharjah, Dubai, Istanbul, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Muscat, Oman and others.

Recently, She has represented India at Rwanda (Africa) . She was invited by Rwanda High Commission and Rwanda Development Board.

She gives credits to her mother, Asha Kapoor (who raised her as a single parent),for inspiring her to be a model, anchor, DJ and singer

Currently Khushboo is focussing on releasing her singles as a singer and actress.

Tell us about any current projects or initiatives you wish to promote

Presently I am working on my music album and I am doing world tour for my shows line up. I want more and more people to watch my YouTube channel, Follow my social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin to stay updated with the happenings in my career. I have my forthcoming shows lined up at Greece, Lebanon, America, Las Vegas, Bangkok, Switzerland, Oman and Ukraine.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

I think every day is a challenge. I am still waiting for any such biggest challenge to face. As an artist, I work 18 hrs a day and always keep travelling. So to keep pace with professional and social life is a day to day challenge. Moreover Dealing with some negative and creep minded people in and around in the industry is also a daily challenge. Getting your way to success without compromising on your ethics and morals should be the pathway for the aspirants. But somehow I feel many of the people opt for incorrect and immoral paths and then fell a prey to wrong hands. I want to mention here, Success is a journey and not a destination and it takes time to be successful.

What has been your greatest achievement personally?

There are many actually. To start with, to become the first youngest female anchor of Rajasthan. I started anchoring and acting when I was just 12 years old. I became the first Page 3 TV anchor from Rajasthan when I started working for ETV. I won the first ever Best RJ of Rajasthan Hunt organized by MYFM. I was the youngest RJ to have got selected in the panel of 95FM Tadka during its pre launch period. I have been the only youngest approved Voice artist of All India Radio to have cleared all the exams, like FM RJ, News Reader, Drama Artist, Yuv Vani , News Editor and so on. Working for several channels at one time was quite an achievement for me as a freelancer. I worked as an anchor for ETV, Doordarshan , Digi News, Bhaskar TV simultaneously. From here to go to the level of being on International TV channels have been quite exciting. I have hosted CLT 20- 20, one day International Tournaments for Star Cricket and Star Sports and have also anchored shows on CNN – IBN and Sadhna TV. Globally, to represent India at the different countries like, Rwanda, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Dubai, Doha, Oman n more has been a marvellous experience for me.

If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

I am triple gold medallist and university topper at two Universities and a PhD. degree holder. I would probably be working as a Full Time Radio Jockey in some reputed Radio Station. I really can’t think of doing anything except doing something creative.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

My mother Asha Kapoor inspires me a lot. Her journey of life has been quite motivating for me as she took care of me as a single mother. She fought all the struggles alone in her life and made me a self capable and independent person. She gave me all the luxuries of life and has always focussed on my studies. She inspired me to study a lot and excel in all the creative fields. She gave me a freedom to choose my career and to make my hobby as my profession.

What does the future hold for you?

I would like to see myself as a more successful and a much compassionate person in the near future. Lots of International projects are lined up. Keep an eye on my social media platforms. I will keep updating there.

Tell us about your journey as an anchor and DJ. What are some of your most memorable moments?
The journey has been absolutely fantastic! My profession has made me confident and independent and I have been able to fulfil all my wishes — I’ve shared the stage with prominent personalities and celebrities from India and abroad, I’ve been featured on the cover of Femina International and I’ve modelled for several shopping websites as well! The biggest achievement of my life was when I hosted the Champions League 20-20 cricket matches and one-day international matches in the presence of the God of cricket — Sachin Tendulkar.

Tell us about your music album. What was your inspiration behind it?
Music is the first love of my life. My music album includes four romantic songs and three peppy numbers. My mother, Asha Kapoor, is my inspiration for the album; it is because of her motivation that I have excelled in my studies and career. She criticises me for every mistake I make and I work on correcting them to improve myself. Also, Lataji (Mangeshkar) is my idol. I would like my work to be appreciated by her.

What’s the reason behind your decision to enter the world of singing?
I am extremely fond of my voice. Whenever my friends used to hear me sing, they always told me that I am wasting my talent and that I could be a rock star, since I have all the qualities of being one! This is what motivated me to seriously pursue singing.

Amongst singing, DJ-ing and anchoring — what do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy all three roles equally, but I love hosting concerts the most. The best part of being a DJ, is that you can make people dance to your tunes, while fulfilling your own passion for music. Singing, on the other hand, is something that I have always aspired to do.

You are a recipient of the Young Achiever Award, which was conferred upon you by Subhash Ghai. Tell us more about this honor.
It made me feel awesome and it was one of the best days of my life! Being chosen as a young achiever of India by a showman of such stature is a great achievement.
