Doorva Solanki | Barclays

doorva-solanki-featured

doorva solankiI am working as a developer in Barclays Technology Center India for a year. I have worked in different domains, which has exposed me to different working cultures. I am a firm believer of diversity as it improves the customs of the team, provides a broader scope and gives a sense of empowerment to everyone. I was the first female development lead in my previous organization, which held a reputation of all male development lead roles. It challenges me to do those things which are forbidden for girls no matter those are related to intellectual level or physical strength.   I think it’s only us who put a barrier on our goals and no one else, thus we should always strive at achieving whatever our heart wants. I want to live life at the fullest and have tried my hands at different areas like Astanga Yoga, photography, painting and learning different dance forms like hip hop, salsa, Bollywood and contemporary. During my engineering, I taught underprivileged girls and it was a true joy to see them getting through the exams. I was an active member of voluntary council in my previous organization, where we taught IT to underprivileged kids of Sumati Balwan.
