Community Business (CB) is an exceptional membership based non-profit organization devoted to advancing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Asia. Their aim is to lead, inspire and support businesses to have a positive impact on people and communities. Equality, integrity, continuous learning and collaboration are their values that guides them in pursuing their aims.
Much has been written globally about the business case for diversity and inclusion (D&I). Much less, however, has been written about how this applies to the Indian context – and many organisations in India struggle to secure the buy-in and commitment of their key local stakeholders.
Community Business recognizes that if more companies in India are to persuade their bosses, colleagues and team members of the strategic importance of D&I, what is required is not just locally relevant data, but more importantly stories – local stories from India – that bring the issues to life and describe the impact on the business.
With the leadership and support of our DIAN India network, Community Business responded to this opportunity. Today in India, the Community Business just launched a new publication, Diversity & Inclusion: Building the Business Case, Stories From India. In it, they set out the business case for embracing D&I, with reference to data points and research from India, as well as present a collection of business case stories from India.
By sharing these stories, the Community Business hope more companies in India will recognise the direct impact on business performance – and make D&I a core part of their business strategy.
