Inspirational Woman: Shilpa Menon | Spiritual Coach

Shilpa menonTell us about yourself

I derive my inspiration from transformation in human behaviour. For me, life is a celebration. My main focus is on introspection and empowerment. I believe that my uniqueness is to bring in clarity with grounded reality and inspire people to achieve their dreams. As mentioned above I work as Life Transformation and Spiritual Coach.

Life has been and continues to be a great teacher. I have been a curious and constant learner, though I have also used my discernment as and when required. During my philosophical and religious studies I would certainly ask questions to seek a deeper understanding and not simply take it at face value.

I operate out of instinct; however I also understand that this learning must be applied and be transferrable. So my endeavor has been to work with magic which is practical.

I truly believe that all answers are within us. It’s simply a matter of discovering and remembering that.

I do get my share of cynics, but that’s true for anyone who, like I mentioned above, is disconnected with their soul and spirit.

How do you define your attitude?

I Dare…

Dare to Love…

Dare to Live…

Dare to be Myself…

Dare to Dream…

Dare to Spread Smiles…

Dare to Express…

Why spiritual healing?

Spirituality for me is to be in alignment with one’s spirit and honouring it to the fullest. Healing is to return to the whole self without divorcing any part of you.

In my experience, the root cause of trouble for most people I’ve worked with is a ‘disconnect’ with their spiritual self. As above so below which simply corresponds to Microcosm (Oneself) into Macrocosm (Universe), so the more you tune into your spirit which is within you, the more you can create the life of your dreams which is on the outside. I play the role of guide. My intention is to help people repair the damage, and empower them to have the emotional freedom to make choices best for them and return to the whole self which is our true journey here on planet earth.

This poem describes my warrior spirit and helps me shine through the phases which sometimes seem dark.

Invictus By William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

What are the various therapies you use?

I have a bouquet of therapies to offer. Magical Mantra’s – positive thinking through affirmations, emotional freedom technique, angel therapy and divination, tarot, past life regression, pythagoras numerology, dream interpretations, access consciousness, self-love healing and much more.

Personally, I believe all of the above mentioned techniques merge and are used for different situations. The one thing I prefer is the power of tuning into mind and spirit and taking responsibility for changing one’s own life with determination and persistence.

What has been your biggest challenge in achieving your success?

I witnessed a magical phenomenon at an early age, which made me believe that everything is possible. Though I had this belief I still faced many challenges. One of the biggest ones was constant health issues. I remember taking so many medicines that there was a point where I was simply fed up. No amount of doctors could prescribe the medicines to heal me. This frustration made me seek alternative healing practices and change my mindset to affirmative thinking. As soon as I started, my health started getting improving and I felt radiant. Being impacted by the simplicity and experiencing a profound shift in my health, I was motivated to share this with a larger audience. That’s how I started enrolling for different modalities and practicing more and more, which later grew to coaching and counseling sessions.

I do get my share of cynics, but that’s true for anyone who, like I mentioned above, is disconnected with their soul and spirit.

I truly believe that all answers are within us. It’s simply a matter of discovering and remembering that.

What has been your greatest achievement personally?

To be able to turn my life exactly the way I wanted and chose. Though this achievement was a challenge at one point as close relatives and friends could not see my perspective, I stood my ground with gentleness to weave life as I dreamt. And now it just feels right and beautiful each day to wake up and bring a smile to people’s faces like the sun making the day bright and beautiful. The joy of seeing lives change and people achieving feats which they thought were impossible just by undergoing few sessions, along with my optimistic support is very rewarding and a feather to my cap. And also, I haven’t taken medicines in the past eight years.

If you weren’t doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

I have always been a follower of my heart, so if I hadn’t pursued my heart’s calling then maybe I would be in a corporate in a senior position by now. I quit my corporate career about eight years ago to jump in the bliss of my spirit’s calling. I feel I am exactly where I am meant to be.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Life itself inspires me; every breath, every conversation, and every experience in which I tune into see something beautiful in people, to be a catalyst for change in certain situations helps me enrich their souls.

The way I understand the word inspiration means to be “In spirit”. Whenever we are tuned into our spirit, we instinctively do what is best for us. My innate habit of being reflective by the end of the day and constant asking how can I get better in serving more and more people, is what really gives me hope to move forward.

How do you begin and end your day?

Each day I wake up with a smile and silent time to myself envisioning how my day will unfold. I ask myself, “How can I be of service and bring more smiles today?”

“What can I do differently?”

“If today is the last day of my life how would I choose to live it?”

Before I go to bed, once again I quietly reflect upon my day and sleep with things I am grateful for.

What does the future hold for you?

I want to reach out to as many people as I can. Helping people connect with their true selves and achieve shifts in their lives is very rewarding for me. I very closely hold the song “Imagine” by John Lennon to my heart. You may say I am a dreamer; however I seriously envision the world filled with more joy, peace, abundance and harmony. In the last few months, during my meditation sessions, I’ve been experiencing things I’ve never seen before, and are extremely difficult to explain. I want to understand them, and understand why I’ve been able to see them. One theme that is constant in the dreams is to be a part of human transformation and spread unconditional love. Maybe all of this will integrate soon and something more magical will unfold for all of us.
